Custom Made Specifications
Pennpitch™ only uses high-quality Carbon sources to ensure a high-quality product. Traditional pitch manufacturing depends upon the distillation of coal tar condensed from coke manufacturing facilities. The yield of coal tar binder pitch is only about 30 lbs./ ton of coal input. The Pennpitch™ process converts 70% of the input coal to pitch as the primary product because of the variable controls in the process, it can be altered to make a range of pitch to suit customer’s compliance requirements. Below is a table of characteristics that show standard pitch, pitches made and the range of characteristics possible by varying the controlling features of the process.
